• RNA CLUB REGISTRATION REQUIREMENT
  Players aged 12–17 years participating in the Redlands Netball Association Representative Program are required to be actively registered with an RNA-affiliated club and participate in a minimum of 50% of scheduled junior club games during the club season, unless an exemption or variation has been approved by Redlands Netball Association.

  Representative netball requires a significant commitment from players and families.

  REPRESENTATIVE PROGRAM COMMITMENT
  I understand that being selected to represent Redlands Netball Association requires a commitment beyond regular club netball.
  Players are expected to:
  • Attend scheduled training sessions.
  • Attend nominated carnivals and competitions.
  • Arrive on time and prepared for all team activities.
  • Communicate absences as early as possible.
  • Participate positively in team activities.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and develop.
  • Follow the directions of coaches, managers and authorised Redlands Netball Association officials.
  • Represent Redlands Netball Association appropriately both on and off the court.
  • Demonstrate good sportsmanship and respect towards teammates, opposition players, umpires, coaches, officials and volunteers.
  • Remain with their team during games, between games and at nominated team activities unless permission has been given by the Team Manager or coaching staff to leave.

  TEAM SELECTION, POSITIONS & COURT TIME
  Representative netball is a team environment.
  I understand that the appointed Redlands Netball Association coach is responsible for determining team strategy, player combinations, playing positions, substitutions and court time.
  Players may:
  • Play in positions different from their preferred position.
  • Be moved between positions according to team requirements.
  • Receive differing amounts of court time during individual matches or competitions.
  • Be selected in combinations considered by the coach to be in the best interests of the team.
  Decisions regarding positions, combinations, substitutions and court time will be made by the coaching team based on factors including performance, team balance, opposition, development needs, fitness, injury, attitude and team strategy.
  I agree to support appropriate coaching decisions and understand that representative selection does not guarantee equal court time or a particular playing position.

  PLAYER CONDUCT
  Players representing Redlands Netball Association are expected to:
  • Treat teammates with respect and inclusion.
  • Respect coaches, managers and officials.
  • Respect umpires and their decisions.
  • Respect opposition players and teams.
  • Demonstrate appropriate behaviour at training, games, carnivals, accommodation and team activities.
  • Follow team rules and instructions.
  • Demonstrate good sportsmanship.
  • Avoid bullying, harassment, intimidation, sexual harassment or other inappropriate behaviour.
  • Respect the talent, potential and development of fellow players and competitors.
  • Care for and appropriately wear Redlands Netball Association uniforms and look after any equipment provided.
  • Be honest with coaches and team officials about illness, injury or any issue that may affect the player’s ability to safely train or compete.
  • Conduct themselves responsibly in relation to language, behaviour, attitude, temper and punctuality.
  • Maintain a high standard of personal behaviour at all times.
  • Prepare appropriately for training and competition and work positively for themselves and their team.
  • Cooperate with coaches and staff in relation to programs designed to prepare players for competition.
  • Not engage in alcohol, tobacco, vaping, illicit drug use or other conduct that may adversely affect sporting performance, player welfare or the reputation of Redlands Netball Association.
  • Represent Redlands Netball Association positively when wearing Redlands Netball Association uniform or attending Redlands Netball Association activities.
  Serious or repeated breaches of behavioural expectations may be managed in accordance with Redlands Netball Association policies and applicable Netball Queensland requirements and may affect a player’s eligibility, selection or continued participation in the Representative Program.

  PARENT / GUARDIAN & SPECTATOR CONDUCT
  Redlands Netball Association values passionate and positive support for our players.
  Parents, guardians and supporters are expected to:
  • Remember that players participate in netball for their enjoyment, development and wellbeing.
  • Encourage players positively.
  • Support and encourage the entire team.
  • Act as a positive role model at all times.
  • Treat all players, coaches, managers, umpires, officials, volunteers and opposition supporters respectfully.
  • Respect umpiring decisions.
  • Refrain from calling out negatively towards players, officials or opposition teams.
  • Avoid questioning or confronting umpires regarding decisions.
  • Refrain from ridiculing, criticising or yelling at players for making mistakes or losing a game.
  • Follow the appropriate Redlands Netball Association process if a concern needs to be raised.
  • Never directly confront another player, parent, coach, umpire or team before, during or after a game.
  • Support the coaching team and the broader interests of the team and Redlands Netball Association.
  • Model the behaviour we expect from our junior athletes.
  • Refrain from coaching from the sideline. Coaching decisions, instructions, positions, rotations and substitutions are the responsibility of the appointed coaching team.
  Poor, inappropriate or repeated parent, guardian or spectator behaviour may be addressed by Redlands Netball Association in accordance with applicable Codes of Conduct and Association policies.
  Consequences may include:
  • Being directed to leave the playing or spectator area.
  • Removal from a Redlands Netball Association venue or event where behaviour is considered serious.
  • Restrictions on attendance at future games, carnivals, training sessions or Association events.
  • A requirement to provide an explanation or participate in a disciplinary process.
  • Other sanctions considered appropriate under Redlands Netball Association policies.
  In serious or repeated circumstances, conduct by a parent, guardian or supporter may also affect the player’s continued participation in the Representative Program where permitted under applicable Redlands Netball Association and Netball Queensland policies.

  CODES OF CONDUCT & POLICIES
  I acknowledge that players, parents/guardians and supporters participating in the Redlands Netball Association Senior and Junior Representative Program are required to comply with applicable:
  • Redlands Netball Association Codes of Conduct
  • Redlands Netball Association Competition and Representative Program requirements
  • Netball Queensland policies
  • Netball Australia Codes of Behaviour
  • Member protection and child safeguarding requirements
  • Redlands Netball Association communication and social media requirements
  • Any competition-specific regulations applicable to Redlands Netball Association representative teams
  I confirm that I have been provided with, or provided access to, the applicable policies and Codes of Conduct and that I have read and agree to comply with these requirements.

  COMMUNICATION & RAISING CONCERNS
  Redlands Netball Association encourages open and respectful communication.
  If a player or parent has a concern relating to:
  • Coaching
  • Team environment
  • Player welfare
  • Behaviour
  • Court time
  • Selection
  • Umpiring
  • Another player or family
  • A competition or carnival
  The concern should be raised through the appropriate Redlands Netball Association communication pathway.
  Where appropriate, concerns should initially be raised through the Team Manager. Matters requiring further consideration may then be escalated to the Representative Coordinator and, where necessary, the Redlands Netball Association Board.
  Concerns should not be addressed through confrontation with players, umpires, opposition teams or other families.
  Parents, guardians, players and supporters should not engage in arguments or disputes through team chats, messaging groups or social media.

  TRAVEL, CARNIVALS & TEAM SUPERVISION
  I give permission for my child to participate in authorised Redlands Netball Association representative:
  • Training sessions

  • Carnivals
  • Competitions
  • Team activities

  I understand that during authorised Redlands Netball Association activities, players may be under the direction of appointed Redlands Netball Association coaches, managers, officials or other authorised personnel.
  Players are expected to remain with their team and under the direction of their Team Manager and coaching staff during games, between games and at nominated team activities unless permission has been given to leave.

  PARENT / FAMILY VOLUNTEERING
  Redlands Netball Association Representative Program relies significantly on volunteers.
  Families may be asked to assist throughout the season with activities including:
  • Scoring
  • Team duties
  • Carnival setup and pack-down
  • Fundraising
  • BBQs
  • Equipment
  • Events
  • Other representative program activities
  I understand that families may be asked to contribute to reasonable volunteering requirements throughout the representative season.

  REPRESENTATIVE FEES & FINANCIAL COMMITMENT
  I acknowledge that participation in the Redlands Netball Association Representative Program involves player fees and other program costs.
  I understand that:
  • Fees must be paid by the nominated due dates.
  • Acceptance of a team position may require payment of a nominated deposit.
  • Redlands Netball Association may commit to competition entry, uniforms, or other expenses on behalf of selected players.
  • Withdrawal after selection may result in some committed costs remaining payable, subject to Redlands Netball Association policy.
  • Additional costs may apply for particular carnivals or representative activities.

  MEDICAL, HOSPITAL & PERSONAL INSURANCE
  I understand that it is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to ensure that the player has any medical, hospital, dental, ambulance, personal accident or injury insurance considered necessary by the family.
  Redlands Netball Association cannot guarantee that all expenses arising from an injury or illness will be covered by the Association or any sporting insurance arrangement.

  EMERGENCY MEDICAL TREATMENT CONSENT
  In the event of injury, illness or medical emergency, I authorise Redlands Netball Association representatives to provide or arrange appropriate first aid.
  If a parent/guardian or nominated emergency contact cannot reasonably be contacted, I authorise Redlands Netball Association representatives to obtain medical, ambulance or hospital assistance considered reasonably necessary for the player’s welfare.
  I understand that any costs not covered by an applicable insurance arrangement may remain the responsibility of the player’s parent/guardian.

  MEDICAL & INJURY STATUS CHANGES
  I understand that it is the responsibility of the player and/or parent/guardian to advise Redlands Netball Association promptly if there is any change during the representative season to the player’s:
  • Medical condition
  • Allergies
  • Medication
  • Injury status
  • Rehabilitation program
  • Training or playing restrictions
  • Medical clearance
  • Asthma, anaphylaxis or other medical action plan
  Players are also expected to communicate honestly with their coach, Team Manager or relevant Redlands Netball Association official about illness or injury that may affect their ability to train or compete safely.

  SUN SAFETY & PLAYER WELFARE
  Players and families are responsible for ensuring players attend training sessions, games and carnivals appropriately prepared.
  This includes providing, where appropriate:
  • Sunscreen
  • Hat
  • Adequate water
  • Appropriate nutrition
  • Required medication
  • Appropriate clothing and footwear
  Players should use appropriate sun protection during outdoor Redlands Netball Association activities.
